The vast majority of hops grown in America are grown in the mountains of Washington State. Perhaps the best known is the Yakima Valley. The history of Centennial hops dates back to 1974, when there was a growing domestic demand for the breeding of new aroma hops. Centennial was finally released in 1990, a year after Washington State celebrated the centennial of the name's selection. Centennial means centennial in English.
