A modern American craft beer variation on the American IPA. It's drier and slightly more spicy than an American IPA. The bitterness and spiciness from the rye lingers in the finish longer than in an American IPA. Does not have the intense rye malt character of Roggenbier. In some cases it can be as strong as a Double IPA.
