Refractometer, with storage box (Brix, SG)

A hand-held refractometer for quick and easy measurement of the specific gravity of the wort, just a few drops of solution. A big advantage over a conventional refractometer is that it gives a more accurate reading and does not require a transfer vessel (in which the refractometer is immersed).

Instructions for use:

Open the plastic cover of the slide. Use the pipette to drop some of the mash/beer onto the slide. It is good if no bubbles are left in the mash after closing the protective plate, but if it forms a homogeneous surface. The refractometer is accurate at room temperature (20°C), so wait 10 seconds after dropping the drop by closing the protective plate or until the vapour disappears from the glass surface.
Look into the viewer of the refractometer while holding it up to the light and read the reading.
