The epsom salt we supply is of high purity and food grade.

 

Epsom salt increases magnesium and sulphate levels. It slightly lowers the pH.

 

Magnesium plays an important role in the mashing process, enzymes need magnesium to do their job properly. Without magnesium, calcium cannot be properly utilized, which is also very important both for mashing and for the health of the yeast.

 

Sulphate is responsible for the hoppy, bitter aftertaste, reducing the full and sweetish aftertaste and enhancing the hop profile.

 

Dosage:

Mg: 10-50 ppm

SO4: 20-350 ppm
