DC190 is a double roasted oak chip at 190 degrees Celsius. It adds roasted and caramel flavours to the beer. Expected effect: contributes to the development of quality aromas (furans, phenol aldehydes, volatile phenols, octolactones)
In general, the more heavily roasted the wood, the stronger the aromas released. Strong flavours are only recommended where the character of the beer can handle it.

- phenol aldehydes -> vanilla notes
- octolactones -> coconut notes
