In fact, raspberries can be substituted for any sour fruit, for example, you can make a sour cherry beer. The raspberries are not part of the package. It's worth buying frozen from the store, but raspberries picked at home are fine.

This is how you can prepare the raspberries:

  • If frozen: thaw on room temperature, blend, then refreeze. Remove 1 day before use and let thaw in the fridge. Add to the beer on the 8th or 9th day of fermentation and let stand for 3-4 days. Then the cold crash can begin.
  • If fresh: blend and freeze. Thaw on room temperature, then freeze again. Remove 1 day before use and let thaw in the fridge. Add to the beer on the 8th or 9th day of fermentation and let stand for 3-4 days. Then the cold crash can begin.
